Dermal filler injections refer to injections which fill in the lines and folds of ageing. There are many different types of dermal filler injections. At OGAM, we have chosen the dermal fillers which have gained worldwide recognition and have become the most popular and trusted way to deliver a natural beauty lift.

OGAM now offers you a choice of twelve different filler options. Using natural materials, they give shape and volume which is long lasting and natural.

Please note due to government regulation, two doses of COVID19 vaccination are required to be eligible for cosmetic treatment. Furthermore, for safety reasons, filler cannot be used within 28 days of Pfizer COVID19 vaccination. This does not apply to AstraZenica brand or antiwrinkle injections

Dermal filler injection treatment options include:

  • Smoothing out of wrinkles and folds such as frown lines, naso-labial folds, marionette lines, smile lines, lip lines etc
  • Lip enhancement to give your lips a fuller, more defined, and more sensuous form
  • Facial contouring, such as filling out nasal bumps, defining jawlines, enhancing cheekbones, or replacing lost volume in the mid-face region
  • Hand rejuvenation
  • Neck and jaw line rejuvenation

We use local anaesthetic nerve blocks, anaesthetic creams and gels for your comfort and apply a cool pack before and after your treatment. Our product choices are all world leading options in medical dermal fillers. Our range of dermal fillers are variable in their duration of action – being from 6 months to a few years.

Once the dermal filler is injected, it becomes incorporated into your own tissues to create a support structure for your overlying skin. The product also stimulates the body’s own production of collagen and elastin fibres, and so the initial result is further enhanced over the following months.

Questions and Answers

How long does it take?

Gaining the look you desire is as easy as it is quick. And the results are instantaneous. No pre-testing is needed and a session often takes less than 30 minutes. If it is your first treatment, we would advise an initial consultation with the doctor or nurse so as you make a fully informed decision and a decision can be made as to what treatment would best suit you.

Does it hurt?

For lip treatments, you will receive a local anaesthetic which effectively blocks any pain. For the fold between the nose and mouth (nasolabial fold) and the marionette lines (downward line from the angle of the mouth),
an anaesthetic cream is applied. For facial contouring, we generally either apply an anaesthetic cream or perform a local anaesthetic nerve block to numb the area. All of our patients are pleasantly surprised with the ease of the treatment and the effective pain management.

How is it done?

During the treatment, the crystal clear gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very thin needle. The gel is integrated within adjacent tissues and gives natural volume and smoothes the wrinkles.

Are there any side effects?

After the treatment, some common injection-related reactions may occur, such as swelling / redness / pain / itching / discoloration and tenderness at the injection site. These typically resolve spontaneously within 1 – 2 days after injection into the skin and within a week after injection into the lips.

At OGAM, most clients report minimal symptoms / signs after 48 hours and paracetamol is sufficient for any post-treatment discomfort. Most people having a lip treatment have it arranged for just before a day off work but others are happy to go straight back to work or get on the next flight! Rarely, in approx 1 in 2000, more significant swelling / redness / and tenderness can occur and last up to 2 weeks.

Can it be used during pregnancy / breastfeeding?

This has not been tested for and it is therefore our policy at OGAM not to perform treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Can the products be used for patients who have undergone laser treatment or chemical peels?

Yes, but it is recommended to wait until the treated area is totally healed and the skin has normalised (normally 4 – 6 weeks ).
